NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Jereme Ombogo continues to expand his trophy case. After earning Third Team All-Region 5 for North Park Football just over one month ago, Ombogo hit the track and earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Athlete of the Week, ranking as the top male athlete in Division III for the week. Ombogo becomes the first athlete in program history to earn this honor during the indoor season.
Don't call it a tune-up meet because Ombogo's first event in 2025, against a pool of Division I sprinters, was a record breaker. Competing at the Wolverine Invitational, Ombogo clocked a DIII-leading 21.76 over 200 meters and also had a pair of sub-6.80 sprints in the 60m. This included a 6.78 PR that tied a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) record and is currently second in Division III Track.
Ombogo qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2023, eligible to compete in both the 60m and 200m against the nation's best sprinters. He was a USTFCCCA Indoor All-Region selection and earned CCIW Track Athlete of the Meet at the league's Indoor Championships, where he was the top point scorer at the event (20).
