NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Having two 4-hit games in a season would be impressive. Having four-hit games in back-to-back weekends is even more so and junior outfielder Alex DiVito did just that for NPU baseball, leading to College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Hitter of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
DiVito opened the Vikings' three-game weekend at GCS Ballpark with a 4-for-5 day against Lawrence, scoring a run while knocking one in. On Saturday, he was 1-for-3 with a walk and stolen base against Heidelberg before going 2-for-4 with a walk in a win over Concordia (IL).
Currently, DiVito is .650 with a double, home run, five runs scored, and four steals. His batting average is good for 27th in DIII baseball while his 13 hits rank 31st. This is the first time in his career he's been named to the CCIW's weekly honors list, following his D3baseball.com Team of the Week recognition last Tuesday.
