CHICAGO, Ill. -- Senior closer Ethan Condit and sophomore shortstop Taylor Joseph were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region 8 Team on Tuesday morning. Condit was named to the First Team while Joseph secured a Second Team nod.
Condit, a right-handed pitcher from Putnam, Illinois, became North Park's all-time leader in career saves (15) and saves in a season (8) this season, only getting better as conference play continued.
Despite being a short-inning arm, he still ranked 7th in CCIW strikeouts (28) and surrendered only 3 walks in conference action. Condit's 3.32 ERA ranked 6th in CCIW play and his .256 batting average against was 10th.
Condit, a First Team All-CCIW selection, enjoyed a 7-2 record with 8 saves in 24 appearances this year, striking out 53 batters against just 5 walks. He maintained a batting average against of .277 and allowed only 10 extra-base hits against 197 batters faced. He struck out at least one batter in 21 of his 24 appearances and had 15 multi-strikeout outings, including 5 at Elmhurst.
Joseph was a game-changing shortstop for Coach Luke Johnson's squad this season. The All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) first teamer never saw his 2026 batting average dip below .400 once the conference season started, concluding the season with a .404 batting average. The five-tool player from Johnson Creek, Wisconsin slugged .652 with 47 runs scored, 10 doubles, 3 triples, and 8 home runs while adding 46 RBI. He drew 25 walks and collected 65 hits while assisting on 114 outs from shortstop.
Joseph hit for the cycle against Carthage and enjoyed 20 different multi-hit games including eight with 3+. He added 16 games with at least one extra-base hit and scored a run in 29 different games.
The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced across all 10 regions. Selections were voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Paul Hesse of the University of Mount Union serves as Chair of the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Committee members also include Brian Casey (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Pete Egbert (Misericordia University), Dan Gomez (Western New England University), Ray Hedrick (Randolph-Macon College), Luke Johnson (North Park University), Scott Laverty (Chapman University), Yogi Lutz (Alvernia University), Nick Pontari (SUNY Brockport), and Kevin Tomasiewicz (University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh).
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America teams will be announced on the evening of Thursday, May 28, following the Opening Ceremony at the 2026 NCAA Division III World Series in Eastlake, Ohio. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.
ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 17, while the 2026 ABCA NCAA Division III Region All-Defensive teams will be released on Thursday, June 18.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first introduced in 2007.
