Wheaton, Il., -- North Park's Track and Field team made a statement this weekend at Wheaton College's Don Church Twilight meet. The Vikings saw 13 top-ten finishes and 6 top-five finishes across all events.
Women's Field
Women's Sprints

100m: Chloe Chesser Chloe Chesser blazed to a 6th place finish with a personal Best time of 12.56s. Riana Hayes was right on her heels, taking 7th in 12.63s out of 28 runners.

200m: Out of 39 competitors, Chesser cracked the top ten, finishing 10th in 26.07s.

400m: Jaclyn Little gutted out a Personal Best of 1:04.47, good for 7th place out of 17.
Men's Field

Javelin: Gabriel Thede had another impressive weekend, taking 2nd place with a massive 48.52m effort. Fellow Viking John Sassan joined him in the top ten against the 17 other competitors, placing 6th with a distance of 46.73m.

High Jump: Wesley McCloud cleared 1.93m, earning a 4th place finish in a 13 person competition.

Triple Jump: Darrius Whiters took 5th place out of 13 with a distnace of 12.75m.

Throws: Richard Covington placed 13th in the Hammer Throw (38.58m) and 15th in the Shot Put (12.16m), with both events seeing more than 25 competitors each.
Men's Sprints
- 200m: Silas Madirgal took 24th place out of a 79 man heat with a time of 22.78s.
- 400m: Madrigal had another strong showing here, finishing 15th at 52.43s against 40 other runners.

800m: In one of the most crowded events of the day with 51 runners, Albin Freiholtz took 2nd place with a personal best 1:55.34. Leonardo Gonzalez (17th, 2:04.69) and Jalen Rios (18th, 2:05.00) also provided strong finishes for the Vikings.

4x400m Relay: The quartet of Silas Madrigan, Giovanni Martinez, Leonardo Gonzalez, and Jalen Rios finished 6th out of 12 with a season best time of 3:36.64.
The Vikings are right back to it next weekend when they travel to Concordia University (Chicago) for the Cougar invitational. The meet is set to take place from Friday, April 24th to Saturday, April 25th with the meet starting at 11am on Friday.
