NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Senior right hander Jackson Nuese earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday afternoon following a win in his start against 15th-ranked UW-La Crosse on Friday.

Nuese, the Vikings' "game one" arm this season, mowed down Eagles hitters in his third start of the season through seven innings of work. The righty from Kihei, Hawaii fanned five batters and scattered six hits in his second win of the seasons, not allowing a walk or an earned run along the way.

Nuese has the fourth-best ERA among CCIW starters this season at 2.25 and he's allowed only five extra-base hits (all doubles) in his 67 batters faced.
