NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park Track & Field returned to action at North Central's Pat Heenan Invite on Saturday. Senior vaulter Julia Klein was the top story for the Vikings, setting a personal record to take first place in the Pole Vault.
Klein vaulted 3.37m in her first attempt, 3.52m in her second round, and finally cleared the bar with a PR of 3.67m to bring home the top placing in the Pole Vault and she added a fifth-place finish in the 200m (27.03) in a pool of 41 runners.
Senior sprinter Riana Hayes was just a couple hundredths of a second away from the number one spot in the 60m, finishing second with a 7.83, just behind Olivet Nazarene's Carsyn Burdine, who PR'd with a time of 7.81. Hayes also grabbed third place in the 200m with a time of 26.37.
For the men, freshman leaper Albin Freiholtz enjoyed a PR in the High Jump at 1.90m to finish second in the event. Senior Wesley McCloud was not too far from Freiholtz, placing fifth with a 1.80m.
