ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- North Park Track & Field competed at their final meet on Wednesday afternoon - Augustana's Midwest Twilight Qualifier. Junior sprinter Jereme Ombogo enjoyed a second-place finish in the 200m and first-place finish in the 100m to lead a batch of personal records.
Ombogo raced in both the 100m and 200m at the final qualifier of the season. He crossed the line at 10.56 in the 100m to beat the next three runner ups from UW-Whitewater. However, he would shine even brighter in the 200. He was one of two runners, joining Millikin's Ibrahim Diakite, to break 21 in the event, setting a facility record and a personal record with a 20.95. That time is good for seventh-best among Division III sprinters and qualifies him for the National race.
Hans Hoglund was eighth of 20 throwers in the Javelin with a distance of 49.81m. Julia Klein was also eighth of 20 in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.26m. Ubayd Kromwell was 10th of 16 in the Long Jump with a 6.46m bound. Kimoria Oliver was 12th of 17 in the Triple Jump with a 10.75m total. Finally, Thea Ring qualified for the 100mH finals and raced to a 14.63.
A number of Vikings saw personal records or season bests at the event, including:
