North Park Track & Field had split crew compete at three different meets this past weekend. The Vikings had representation at Iowa State's Cyclone Twilight, Augustana's Penultimate Qualifier, and St. Francis's Fighting Chance Invite.

Penultimate & Fighting Chance Notes

Riana Hayes was the top performer from the weekend. The junior sprinter ran the best qualifying time of 11.95 (nearly matching her PR of 11.92) in the 100m Prelim before her time of 12.10 in the Finals raced placed her in the top spot. She was one of just two athletes to run a sub-12 in the Prelims, as Elmhurst's Lauren Marshall crossed the line at 11.99. Hayes was also third in the 200m, crossing the line at 25.02. She turned around the next day to compete at the Fighting Chance Invite, placing sixth in the 100m Finals with a time of 12.19.

For the men, junior thrower Richard Covington was 8th of 17 participants in the Discus with a mark of 42.69m. Junior James Boldware was just outside of the top three in the 100m, finishing at 10.99 in the finals race for fourth place.

Cyclone Twilight Notes - John Sassan

John Sassan returned to Iowa State for the Cyclone Twilight, competing against Division I opponents in the Javelin. Sassan was sixth of 10 throwers, all Division I opponents, including a pair from Iowa State with his toss of 53.52m.
