ELMHURST, Ill. – North Park University Track & Field competed at Elmhurst's Chicagoland Championships this past week in their second outdoor meet of 2025.
For the North Park women, junior sprinter Riana Hayes placed second in the 100m Finals, crossing the line at 12.23 to time in as the 23rd-ranked mark in Division III. Sophomore Meja Lindberg was third in the Finals, securing a time of 12.35. Previously, in the Prelims, Hayes ran a 12.04 – the 13th-best time in DIII, and Lindberg ran a 12.20 – the 22nd-best time in DIII.
Junior Thea Ring placed second in the 400m, crossing the line at 56.91. That time ranks 15th in Division III. She was fifth in the Long Jump, leaping 5.45m to rank 23rd in Division III, and PR'd in the 200m with a time of 24.81 – the 12th-best time in Division III.
Freshman Kimoria Oliver cracked the nation's top 100 in the Triple Jump, placing 11th of 28 with a 10.58m mark. Senior Lauren McKnight was 24th of 39 in the Shot Put with a heave of 9.49m. Johanna Södergård PR'd in Javelin with a 28.16m mark to place 13th.
The North Park Men saw success in the Javelin, as Hans Hoglund, John Sassan, and Tyler Olson all broke into the top 10 at the event. Hoglund was second with a throw of 48.69m, Sassan was right behind him in third with a 48.31 and Olson's seventh-place finish was highlighted with a 42.38m throw.
Junior Richard Covington was 19th of 46 in the Discus with a 34.67m throw and Thomas Knight was 27th of 41 in the Shot Put at 10.26m.
Junior Wesley McCloud enjoyed a 10th-place finish in the High Jump with a leap of 1.86m.
