NAPERVILLE, Ill. – After a career start against Elmhurst on Saturday, junior right hander Jackson Nuese was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday afternoon.
Nuese navigated 7.2 innings against the Bluejays, allowing only one hit and one earned run. In addition to the longest outing of his career, Nuese's eight strikeouts also established a new high.
The right hander leads the Vikings with a .255 batting average against and has three wins to his credit this season. He's second on the team with 35 strikeouts.
This is the first weekly honor of his career and he joins Nate Sommerfeld as one of two from North Park Baseball to earn a spot on the league's weekly list.
