CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed in their final meet before the CCIW Indoor Championships - the Margaret Bradley Invite hosted by U-Chicago this past Saturday. The NPU men finished tied for fifth of eight while the Viking women were third of ten.

Meja Lindberg ran a qualifying mark of 7.88 in the 60m qualifier, second only to Riana Hayes's 7.83. Lindberg then score 10 points thanks to a first-place finish in the finals, running a PR of 7.76. Hayes was third with a 7.82 (6pts) while Mariana Costa also PR'd for a fifth-place finish (4pts) with an 8.09. Costa also earned three points in the 200m with a 27.28 and sixth-place finish.

Thea Ring added to the batch of PR's with an 8.91 in the 60m Hurdles race, placing second to score eight points for NPU. This was not only a PR, but it established a new program record in the event for NPU. Ring added four more points with a fourth-place finish in the High Jump with a leap of 1.48m and eight points in the Shot Put (second place, 11.08m, PR).

Kimoria Oliver and Rian Hobbs rounded out the point-scorers for NPU Women's Track & Field. Hobbs tossed a PR of 9.91 to place seventh in the Shot Put while Oliver was fifth in the Triple Jump with a total distance of 10.08m.

For the men, Wesley McCloud was third in the High Jump, scoring six points, with a leap of 1.88m. Richard Covington and Thomas Knight brought respective six and two points in the Weight Throw. Covington was third with a distance of 14.26m while Knight was seventh with a 12.36.

Covington and Mason Wilson also brought in points during the Shot Put. Covington's 12.30m throw placed him fifth while Wilson's 12.09m mark was sixth.
