Ring named USTFCCCA All-Region, heading to National Championships to compete in Heptathlon

Ring named All-Midwest in both the Heptathlon and 100m Hurdles

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Sophomore multi competitor and sprinter Thea Ring received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Midwest Region honors in two different events on Friday afternoon

Ring received the important recognition in both the Heptathlon and 100m Hurdles. Additionally, Ring secured a bid to the Outdoor Championships in Myrtle Beach where she will compete in the Heptathlon against the best multi athletes in Division III. Ring is one of just five underclassmen that qualified to compete in the Heptathlon at the National Championships. Ring's top point total in the Heptathlon this season, which is also a career high and NPU's all-time record, is 4,706.

The competition is set to begin at 11:30 AM ET on Thursday, May 23.
