NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Senior second baseman Justin Swanson earned CCIW Hitter of the Week recognition following a 6-for-11 performance at the plate last week.
Swanson scored four runs and drove in a pair, doubling twice, to lead the Vikings to three league wins; two against Augustana and one at home against North Central. Swanson also swiped four bases in the three games, helping vault North Park Baseball to 9th in Division III with 84 stolen bases.
Swanson was a catalyst for the NPU offense right away in the Vikings' CCIW home game against the Cardinals last Thusrday, driving a double in the first inning.
Swanson one of his best games of the season in an extra-inning win over Augustana on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with a double. Additionally, he was perfect in the field during his 15 defensive chances. The 2023 All-American ranked 32nd in DIII Baseball with a .550 on-base percentage and he leads the Vikings with 29 runs scored, 21 walks, and a pair of home runs.
