NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Park baseball sent four to the 2023 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Conference team, as the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. Bobby Bartlett, Garrett Bragg, and Justin Swanson were all first-team selections while Nathan Sommerfeld garnered second-team honors.

Bartlett, a two-way player from Winfield, Ill. showcased a fantastic senior season on the mound in and out of conference action. In each CCIW outing, Bartlett lowered his ERA for six-consecutive starts. In league games, Bartlett had a CCIW second-best 1.54 ERA, eighth-best .231 BAA, and turned in the sixth-fewest walks allowed (8). He struck out 27 batters and pitched in two CCIW games without allowing an earned run in 8+ innings of work. As a hitter, Bartlett posted a .310 / .404 / .429 slash line with eight runs scored, six RBI, a double, and two triples. Last but not least, Bartlett fielded a perfect 1.000 in CCIW action with 17 assists.

Bragg, a catcher from Geneva, Ill., was a force both at and behind the plate in his senior season. Bragg posted a league slash line of .352 / .417 / .407 with five runs scored, five RBI, and three doubles. He had five multi-hit games in league action and cracked a pair of doubles in game two of the Elmhurst series. Shutting his opponents' running game down, Bragg led the CCIW with six runners caught stealing, carrying a .992 fielding percentage with 13 assists and only one error.

Swanson, a second baseman from Johnson Creek, Wis., is one of the most feared hitters in the Midwest this spring, holding a slugging percentage north of .600 for most of the season. He was in the top ten of numerous CCIW categories, including batting average (9th, .400), slugging percentage (4th, .662), on-base percentage (5th, .536), OPS (5th, 1.198), runs scored (2nd, 27), home runs (7th, 3), and walks (2nd, 16). He added six doubles, a triple, and three steals to his impressive junior campaign. In the field, Swanson made just one error to contribute to a .988 fielding percentage, turning 12 double plays with 44 assists.

Sommerfeld, a sophomore outfielder from Crest Hill, Ill., was a menace at the plate against CCIW pitching. He carried a slash line of .397 / .488 / .588 with five doubles, a triple, and two home runs. He held top-10 CCIW ranks in slugging percentage (10th, .588), OPS (8th, 1.076), hits (7th, 27), and RBI (4th, 21). He was hitless in just one league game, tallying eight multi-hit games against CCIW pitching. In the outfield, He fielded at a .926 clip, marking an assist after robbing a home run at home against Carroll.
