ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- Senior thrower Clark Fremouw and the North Park men's 4x400 team set two North Park records at the Augustana Twilight meet this past Thursday, finalizing the last regular season event of 2023.
Fremouw's second throw in the discus proved to be the record breaker, landing at the 50.22m mark and securing an 11th placing out of 35 competitors. Additionally, Fremouw was 14th in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.09m. Fremouw was recently named a USTFCCCA Midwest All-Region selection in the discus.
The North Park men's 4x400 meter relay team (Silas Madrigal, Jereme Ombogo, Ubaydullah Kromwell, and Olav Gissinger) broke their own record with an official time of 3:20.34, finishing 16th at the meet.
Ombogo was a top-three finisher in both the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash with times of 21.40 and 48.43, respectively. He placed second in the 400, just .06 seconds behind the winner, and third in the 200. Ombogo was also an All-Region selection, with his honors arriving in the 200.
On the women's side, the Vikings were led by a sixth-place 400 meter hurdles finish by senior Esther Miller (1:06.49).
Ombogo Heading to Nationals
This concludes the 2022-23 track & field season, but the Vikings will send Ombogo to the NCAA Championships at John Fisher College on May 25. Ombogo will represent North Park in the 200m
