WAUKESHA, Wis. – North Park baseball was out-slugged in Waukesha on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Carroll by a score of 9-5.
The Pioneers got on the board with an RBI single in the first inning North Park executed on a double steal of second and home, Reece Arakaki and Justin Swanson, respectively, in the third inning to knot everything up. Carroll got two back in their half of the third on Thomas Ward's RBI double, but the Vikings pulled ahead once more in the fourth inning on Alex DiVito's RBI grounder.
Carroll's offense continued to keep them in the game on Casey Mir's RBI single and a Trevor Benz RBI double to right field in the Pioneers' half of the fourth. North Park pulled ahead in the fifth inning on a run-scoring infield error and Bobby Bartlett's RBI single to center field, scoring Carlos Martinez.
Unfortunately, the Pioneers tacked on five runs in the next three chances at the plate to outlast North Park.
