BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The Vikings track & field team concluded the 2023 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Indoor Track & Field Championships with seventeen top-eight podium finishes as well as six top-3 medal winners.

On the men's side, sophomore Jereme Ombogo was the top point scorer of the championships tallying 20 points. He was named CCIW Track Athlete of the Meet for competing in his two individual events. He won the 60-meter (6.84) & 200-meter (22.00).

Freshman Olav Gissinger came up big for the Vikings as he earned three individual All-Conference Performances in the 60-Meter Hurdles (8.71), Triple Jump (13.08m), & Pole Vault (4.25m).
Along with their individual success, Gissinger & Ombogo helped the Vikings place third in the 4x400 relay as they concluded the day. The Vikings broke a 24-year-old school record that was set in 1999 by running a time of 3:26.39. The relay squad featured sophomore Michael Kleiner, sophomore Jalen Rios, Ombogo, and Gissinger.

Sophomore Ubaydullah Kromwell finished third overall in the Heptathlon in which he had five personal records. This was Kromwell first time competing in the heptathlon. Kromwell finished with 3879 points with now 5th all-time. His mark places him 19th in the Midwest across Division III track & field.

On the women's side, senior Esther Miller finished fourth overall in the Pentathlon as well as a fourth-place finish in the triple jump. Miller finished with 2991 points, which is a new school record. Her mark places her 6th in the Midwest across Division III track & field.
Freshman Thea Ring had a quality championship showing as well earning three individual All-Conference performances: Long Jump (5.23m), 60-Meter Hurdles (9.46), & 400-Meters (1:02.14)
Senior Patrycia Miazek finished fourth in the 5000 Meters with a time of 18:20.96. Miazek shaved more than 23 seconds off her previous personal record. Her mark is good for 3rd all-time at North Park.
