BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Numerous top 10 all-time performances and two event wins highlighted the North Park track & field team's day at the I-55 invitational on Saturday in Bloomington.
Freshmen Olav Gissinger and Thea Ring and sophomore Ubaydullah Kromwell all posted top 10 all -time performances in the 60-meter high hurdles which helped set the tone for the Vikings at the Shirk Center.
One of the opening events on the track was the 60-meter, where sophomore Jereme Ombogo won the final in 6.98 seconds. In addition to the 60m, Ombogo also ran a leg on the 4x400 relay that now ranks third all-time. Ombogo teamed up with Silas Madrigal, Jalen Rios, and Gissinger as they finished in 3rd with a time of 3:30.88.
Senior Clark Fremouw continues to have a standout season in the throws events as he recorded a top-5 performance in school history. He finished in first place in the weight throw and second place finish in the shot put.
Freshman Julia Klein tallied points in the pole vault with a second place, jumping 10' 11.75" (3.35m). Klein also continued to show her versatility as she ran top 10 all-time mark in the 60-meter dash (8.51).
Freshman Thea Ring posted second place for the long jump with a jump of 17' 6.25" (5.34m). That mark places her third all-time at North Park and has her currently ranked 37th in the nation.

Next up for the Vikings will be the Aurora Grand Prix as the team will travels to Gately Indoor Track. The men are scheduled to compete on Friday, Jan. 27 while the women compete on Saturday, Jan 28.
