NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- After setting up her teammates for 83 kills in a three-match stretch, junior setter Christina Gatta was named a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Gatta, helped lead the Vikings to three-straight sweeps last week, notching 28 assists, 10 digs and two blocks in a three-set win at Benedictine on September 9, 27 assists, 11 digs and two blocks in a sweep of Knox on September 11, and 28 assists, four digs and two blocks in a sweep at Dominican (IL) on the same day. Gatta has not finished with less than 27 set assists in any of her matches this season.
In 2019, Gatta ended the season as the nation's fifth-best server (77 service aces) while averaging a national 16th-best 0.75 aces per set.
