BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Patrycja Miazek placed eighth in the 800-meter final with a time of 2:24.16 at the Collegece Conferece of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Elite Meet. That time is a new mark for her, and a good momentum booster as the Vikings head to the outdoor season.
"Patrycja Miazek did really well this weekend, I am really proud of her," North Park coach Bisrat Kidane said. "She and Coach Rosenau talked about executing all season long, and that's exactly what she did today. She was poised throughout and rose to the competition - which was the best in the conference - and she represented North Park very well. How she competed this weekend will carry great momentum into the upcoming outdoor season. I couldn't be more proud."
In total, the North Park University men's and women's track & field teams had the opportunity to compete four different times through this 2021 indoor season. All of the events were held on the campus of Carthage College. Many newcomers made an impact on Coach Kidane's squad right away, while a number of returners had career-high performances, as well as a few new record holders.
