CHICAGO, IL (October 21, 2011) – The North Park volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Alverno College Invite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Friday night.

After losing their first match 25-18, 21-25, 18-25, 8-25 to Edgewood College, the Vikings bounced back for a three-set sweep 26-24, 25-15, 25-16 over host Alverno behind a 20-kill performance from sophomore Shelby Switzer in the nightcap.

Sophomore Tricia Ivanoff added 11 kills, while freshman Aurora Johansen, who was named to the All-Tournament team at the North Central College Invite last weekend, dished out 36 assists. Junior Jessica Holmescame up with 17 digs and sophomore Julia Bakken added 15.

In the first match, Switzer finished with her 11th double-double of the season with 12 kills and 25 digs, while Ivanoff was the only other Viking in double-figure kills with 10. Johansen dished out 19 assists and Holmes finished with 15 digs.

North Park (12-15) returns to action Tuesday night when it closes out the home portion of its regular season with College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Wheaton College at 7 p.m.
