STURTEVANT, Wis. — The North Park University men's golf team opened their season at the Carthage Firebirds Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday, finishing tied for 15th place in the tournament with a 36-hole score of 615 (310, 305).
The Vikings showed improvement in the final round, trimming seven strokes off their opening-round total to post a 304 on Tuesday after carding a 311 on Monday.
Lucan Meade was the top North Park finisher, finishing even par with a 71, 73 to place eighth in a field of 90 individuals. He enjoyed eight birdies across the 36-hole event and added 19 pars to a solid season-opening performance.
Oliver Parkner led the North Park lineup, finishing tied for 29th place with a two-round score of 149 (+5). His rounds of 74 and 75 paced the Vikings throughout the event.
Felix Pettersson followed with a tie for 45th place at 152 (+8), while Jarne Urbach finished tied for 56th with a score of 154 (+10).
Aurora captured the team title at even par, followed by Millikin in second place (+3) and host Carthage College in third (+5).

North Park crosses the IL-WI once again, heading the the Como Crossings Intercollegiate 36 to compete at Hawks View Golf Course in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The two-day event begins on Tuesday, September 22.
