BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- North Park Track & Field competed at Illinois Wesleyan's Keck Invite, a major indoor event that featured teams across all divisions. Jereme Ombogo took first place in the 60m while a number of Vikings set personal and season records at the event.
Ombogo qualified for the finals in the 60 with a leading time of 6.87, finishing in front of a pair of sprinters from DePauw and Division I opponent Illinois State. He matched that performance in the finals race with a time of 6.80 to, once more, finish in first at the short sprint.
Wesley McCloud set a personal record in the High Jump, earn a top-third placing (7th) with a bound of 1.90m. Other than IWU's Matthew Lindberg, who won the event with a 2.04m mark, McCloud was the top CCIW finisher in the High Jump.
Kordell Berry and Mason Wilson neared the top half of finishers in the Shot Put with respective heaves of 12.24m and 12.09m to place 23rd and 25th.
Finally, in the 200m, Jordan Brazil and Petros Siakavelis each had season-best performances. Brazil also PR'd in the event, placing 49th with a time of 24.61. Ali Karatas placed 21st in the 800m (2:03.81).
For the women, Hayes ran a qualifying time of 7.90 before improving in the finals with a 7.86 mark to place seventh. Thea Ring did the same in the 60m Hurdles, qualifying in sixth (9.18) before moving up a spot in the finals to earn fifth-place (9.12).
Hayes and Ring were respective fourth and fifth place finishers in the 200m - Hayes ran a 25.73 and Ring was right next to her at 25.76.
Ring and Kimoria Oliver cracked the top 10 in the Long Jump - Ring fifth at 5.22m and Oliver ninth at 4.92m. Lauren McKnight was in the top half of finishers in the Shot Put with a heave of 10.77m to place 19th.
Emma Klein and Melanie Sorisho PR'd in the mile with respective times of 6:27.85 and 6:37.64.

North Park is closing in on the CCIW Indoor Championships, but will first look to the Chicagolands Championship next Friday and Saturday, Feb.14-15, hosted by North Central College.
