The North Park Track & Field team competed at Illinois Wesleyan's Friday Night Tri and also sent a small batch of athletes to the Alex Wilson Invite this past weekend.

Freshman Marley Gandee nearly reeled in the top spot in the 800m inside the Shirk Center on Friday, enjoying a PR of 2:23.79 and finished a half second out of first place.

Speaking of the top spot, Julia Klein posted a 3.52m mark in the Pole Vault to enjoy the first spot in the event. 

For the NPU men, freshman Darrius Whiters was second in the Triple Jump, PR'ing with a total distance of 13.05m.

Over at Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invite, senior Riana Hayes finished with a time of 24.88 in the 200m while senior Richard Covington marked a heave of 14.17m in the Weight Throw.

North Park now looks to the CCIW Indoor Championships, back inside the Shirk Center, this coming Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28.
