NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Following a 44-0 rout of Millikin this past Saturday, North Park University Football claimed two of the three weekly honors from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) on Monday afternoon. Fifth-year linebacker Jaydin Miller was named the Defensive recipient while fifth-year punter/kicker Carson Blatchford was the Special Teams honoree.
Miller picks up the third CCIW weekly honor of his career after locking down the Big Blue offense at every spot of the field. In one of Millikin's few red zone chances, Miller punched the ball out to preserve the shutout.
The 2023 All-Region linebacker led North Park with six tackles (three for loss) a pair of sacks, forced two fumbles and was in on a pass break up
Blatchford earns the first CCIW weekly honor of his career after consistently putting the Big Blue in difficult spots on the field via punts and kickoffs. The 2022 All-CCIW punter booted six punts for an average of 41.3 yards, put two punts inside the 20, and had one go for 53 yards.
His seven kickoffs resulted in four touchbacks, averaging 58.9 yards of distance.
