Miller named CCIW's Defensive Player of the Week following standout performance against Carroll

Second weekly honor of the 2024 season for North Park's fifth-year linebacker from South Bend, Indiana

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- After securing a pair of turnovers to lead North Park Football to a 30-26 Homecoming win over Carroll last Saturday, fifth-year linebacker Jaydin Miller was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. This is the second time Miller earned the weekly honor this season, as he and fifth-year punter Carson Blatchford picked up weekly accolades on Sept. 23.

Miller had a season high 10 tackles, including two for a loss of 19 total yards, in the Vikings' win over the Pioneers. He added a key sack-fumble in the fourth quarter to put Carroll 24 yards away from a first down. To cap off a great defensive effort, he intercepted a pass around the middle of the field in Carroll's second-to-last drive of the game with under a minute to go in the fourth quarter.

Miller is the Vikings' top tackler with 35 and he also leads the NPU defense with 6 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and three sacks. He is the only player in the CCIW to force three fumbles and one of just 12 players across the country to do so. His six tackles for loss rank tied for fourth in the CCIW.
