CHICAGO, Ill. -- For the second year in a row, both the North Park University men's and women's track teams and four North Park track student-athletes were recognized for their academic performances in 2022-23 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as the organization announced on July 13.
The North Park teams earned All-Academic team honors for having a combined cumulative team grade point average of 3.1. The men's program combined grade point average was 3.12 while the women's program earned a combined GPA of 3.52.
Four North Park student athletes were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes, which establishes a new program record.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or above and must have competed in the NCAA Division III Indoor or Outdoor Championships or be ranked in the top 50 on the TFRRS national performance list. North Park's honorees included men's track athletes senior Clark Fremouw (Matteson, IL, Chicago Christian H.S.), an Exercise Sports Science major and sophomore Jereme Ombogo (Houston, TX, Klein Forest H.S.), an Economics major. North Park women's track student-athletes receiving honors were senior Esther Miller (Sullivan, IL, Sullivan H.S.), a Physics major and freshman Thea Ring (Mora, Sweden), a Physical Education major.
