NAPERVILLE, Ill. – After picking up College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Defensive Player of the Week accolades on Monday, junior linebacker Jaydin Miller was also named to the Week 6 D3football.com National Team of the Week on Tuesday morning. Miller becomes the first Viking to appear on the nationally-recognized list more than once within a season.
Miller, a Second Team All-CCIW pick in 2022, boasts his fourth weekly honor of the season after being named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week and a D3football.com National Team of the Week recipient during week 4.
Against the Carthage Firebirds this past Saturday, Miller did it all. The junior captain led all defensive players with 12 tackles (11 solo) including two for a loss of 13 total yards. He added a sack for a loss of 12 yards, recovered a fumble, was credited with a quarterback hurry and pass breakup, and had a fourth quarter pick-six to seal the Vikings' third win of the season.
In total, Miller accounted for 49 lost yards against the Carthage offense. In CCIW action, he leads the league with five sacks and two interceptions and he is second with 25 solo tackles and six solo tackles for loss.
