2025: Named First Team All-CCIW ...

All-CCIW writeup: Perona enjoyed the second all-conference honors of his career, elevating to first team from his second team nod in his 2024 sophomore season. The Vikings' starting right fielder from Chicago led the CCIW with 14 stolen bases and cracked the league's top 10 in Hits (32, 3rd), Batting Average (.376, 6th), and Runs Scored (19th, 8th). He slugged .506 alongside a .442 on-base percentage and had six extra-base hits. Additionally, Perona marked a pair of assists from right field and was credited with 56 putouts.


2024: Earned Second Team All-CCIW honors ... ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-Region ... Named the CCIW Hitter of the Week on April 29 after hitting .625 (10-for-16) with 12 RBI, 5 XBH, and a pair of stolen bases ... Ended up on the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week (May 1) for that same stretch of games ... He capped his honors on the afternoon of May 1, becoming the Honorable Mention National Hitter of the Week by the NCBWA ... Enters his junior 2025 season with 49 career stolen bases, 13th all-time at North Park … Stole 43 bases in 2024, the second-most in program history … Slashed .351/.454/.474 with eight doubles, a home run, and team-leading five triples … Drove in 36 runners and scored a team third-best 46 runs … Struck out just 17 times in team-leading 171 at-bats … Led Vikings with 30 walks … Led NPU with 20 multi-hit games, including seven 3-hit games … Stole multiple bases in 11 different games, including four against Beloit (3/16).

All-CCIW stats: The speedy leadoff hitter ranked in the top 15 of Division III base stealers for most of the season, concluding the CCIW slate with 14. He hit .341 with a .420 OBP while slugging .489. Perona scored 20 times and drove in as many runners, while fielding perfectly in right field with a pair of assists. He earned three different weekly awards for a string of performances against Carroll, Wheaton, and Dominican.

2023: Appeared in 23 games, making 17 starts as a catcher and outfielder … Had a slash line of .246/.352/.262 with 8 RBI and 15 runs scored in 61 at-bats … Had a double … Second on the team with six stolen bases … Fielded .988 – only one error – with 79 putouts and five assists … Caught four runners attempting to steal ... Had five multi-hit games, including a 2-for-4 day with a stolen base against North Central (5/5) … Drove in three runners against Ripon (3/11).
