CHICAGO, Ill. -- 61 student-athletes from North Park University earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference honors for the Spring season. Baseball's Reyn Matsuzaki and Softball's Kayla Lorenz were the North Park recipients of the prestigious Jack Swartz Award.
Matsuzaki enjoyed another First Team All-CCIW season in 2026, helping guide North Park Baseball to a conference tournament championship appearance. The catcher from Honolulu, Hawaii caught a conference-leading 10 runners attempting to steal and was the second-leading conference hitter for NPU with a .357 batting average against CCIW arms. Matsuzaki slugged .500 for the season with 9 doubles, a triple, and 6 homers in addition to 44 RBI.

Lorenz enjoyed a storied collegiate career on and off the softball field. She became North Park Softball's first-ever four-time all-conference pick this season and broke the program record for career RBI (44). This past season, she hit .378 with 26 runs scored, 51 total hits, 9 doubles, 4 triples, and 5 homers alongside 44 RBI. She made 97 putouts as a play-making shortstop, adding 70 putouts to captain the infield. Additionally, she was presented with the Ahnfeldt Medallion for her four years of a 4.0 grade-point average.
