CHICAGO, Ill. -- 97 student-athletes from North Park University earned College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference honors for the Fall season. Soccer standouts Caroline Sjøstedt and Hugo Neborg were named the North Park recipients of the prestigious Jack Swartz Award.
The Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference list comprises those individuals that achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or above and have served at least one year in residency at their respective schools. The award is named after the former Augustana College athletics administrator. Wrath retired in June of 2021 as the Associate Director of Athletics for Media and Alumni Relations, serving the Vikings for 40 years. In addition to his duties at Augustana, Wrath served as the CCIW Sports Information Director from 1996 to 2005 and was instrumental in establishing the CCIW's Academic All-Conference Program in 2005.
Sjøstedt guided North Park women's soccer to new heights this season, as the Vikings competed for their first-ever CCIW Tournament title this past fall. The senior forward from Nesøya, Norway led all players in conference assists with 6, the first Viking to lead the CCIW in that category in program history. She was fifth in points (10) and, though she had only 2 goals in conference games, she consistently applied pressure to opposing defenses with 29 total shots and 10 arriving on frame, good for third and sixth in the CCIW. Sjøstedt is a multiple-time CSC Academic All-District honoree and carries a cumulative GPA of 3.95 through her studies in finance and applied computer science.
Neborg tallied a goal and assist this season, playing in four of North Park's shutouts in 2025. The 2024 CCIW Defender of the Year and team captain once again caused headaches for opposing offenses, not shying away from aggressive play on and away from the ball. The 2024 All-American from Halmstad, Sweden also assisted on the go-ahead goal at Carroll, guiding North Park to a 2-1 victory over the Pioneers. Neborg is a three-time All-Region selection and multiple-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District honoree. He boasted a cumulative GPA over 3.9 as a finance major at North Park.
Additionally, the CCIW announced all of the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award. Each CCIW member institution selects two student-athletes (one men's athlete & one women's athlete) from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or above.
The Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference award is named after the former Wheaton College Director of Athletics and CCIW Commissioner. Swartz served in the Athletics Director role from 1975-1982 and as CCIW Commissioner from 1987 until his passing on July 11, 1997.
