Keck Invite led by strong sprints from Hayes

Hayes grabs first in the 60m and 200m, climbing in the NPU record books

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- North Park Track & Field saw another meet headlined by senior sprinter Riana Hayes at the Keck DIII Select, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

Hayes cruised in the 60m qualifiers, crossing the line with a time of 7.78. She blew that time out of the water in the finals, setting a personal and school record with a time of 7.64.

That mark is also just outside of the Division III top 10 at 11th. The standout sprinter also enjoyed a season best time in the 200m to place first, marking a 25.26 to rise to 30th in DIII for the event.

Senior Julia Klein also enjoyed a season best in the 200m, placing 11th with a 26.76.

Junior thrower Rian Hobbs emerged in the upper half of finishers with a Shot Put heave of 9.52m to grab 16th.

For the North Park men, Jordan Brazil placed 27th of 81 sprinters in the 200m as the junior finished with a time of 23.88. Freshman Leonardo Gonzalez set a personal record in his young career by placing 28th in the 800m at 2:03.45.

Finally, enjoying a season best in the High Jump was senior Wesley McCloud, whose 1.90m leap was good for fourth in the event.
