CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park Women's Soccer team (1-1, 0-0) stay local once again for their third game of the season on September 3 when they travel to Dominican University for a mid-afternoon game at 2:00pm. Dominican University, like season-opening opponent Benedictine University, is a familiar opponent to many of North Park's teams.
The Vikings last faced Dominican in the 2023 season where they stalemated at 1-1, an even game across the board with both teams tallying 15 shots - 7 saves for North Park and 8 saves for Dominican.
After their loss to #22 Illinois Institute of Technology, a game where senior goalkeeper Paige MacRitchie managed to tie an NPU single-game record with 15 saves, the Vikings look to get back in the win column before taking the trip to Iowa on Saturday, September 6 when they face Loras College at 5pm.
The Stars lost their lone game this season in a 1-0 title with CCIW familiar Wheaton College. Dominican sent in 10 shots, including just two on frame in the loss. Sophomore defender Ariana Barney is the Stars' top returning scorer from 2024, tallying 6 goals and 4 assists in her first collegiate season.
