CHICAGO, Ill. -- Only two games remain in the 2025 regular season for North Park Women's Soccer (9-6, 6-0) as they head into what might be their most important game in program history this weekend against North Central College (11-5, 6-0).  Both teams sit at the top of the CCIW standings and are in the middle of impressive win streaks, the Vikings with 6 straight and the Cardinals with 7.  While both teams have already booked their ticket to the CCIW Tournament, this being the first time the Vikings have ever qualified for the tournament, Saturday's game could very well decide which team walks away as the CCIW regular season champions.

The Vikings are coming off a midweek 2-0 victory against Millikin, where they dominated time of possession and shot four times as many shots as the Big Blue with a 24-6 advantage.  Freshman Sofia Svensson and junior Hannah Björkegren accounted for the two goals marking their 10th and 4th goals on the season respectively.  Svensson extended her scoring streak to 6 straight games and is only one of two players in the CCIW with a double-digit goal total.  

For North Central, forward Jordan Lange leads the Cardinals in shots, goals, assists, and points, sitting in the top three in all those categories across the CCIW.  They also have nine players with at least two goals, showing that they scoring can come from anywhere and anyone on the pitch for the Cardinals.  During their current 7 game win streak North Central is averaging 3.57 goals per game while allowing only 1.4 goals per game, similar to North Park who is averaging 3 goals per game and allowing 1.5 goals per game defensively.  Such evenly matched teams, record and personnel wise, sets up a game that could either be high or low scoring and come down to the wire nonetheless.

This match up between the number 1 and 2 teams in the CCIW will start at 5pm on Saturday, October 25th at the Holmgren Athletic Complex.
