CHICAGO, Ill. -- After a week away from intercollegiate competition, North Park Women's Soccer (7-6, 4-0) is back in action this Saturday, October 18, as they head north to face the Pioneers of Carroll University (5-3-5, 2-2-1).
The Vikings are in the middle of a four-game win streak, and with four conference games left in the season, having three of these last four games against teams in the top five of the CCIW standings.
Over their last four games Carroll has gone 2-0-2, with both of those ties being 0-0 stalemates showcasing their defensive ability to keep teams scoreless. Pioneer keeper Neveah Darby had a combined 10 saves over those two tie games, while their offense only averages a little over one goal per game over the course of the season.
During their win streak, North Park has averaged around four goals per game, behind great performances by senior forward Caroline Sjøstedt and freshman midfielder Sofia Svensson, both earning CCIW Player of the Week honors over the last two weeks. Defensively, the Vikings are only allowing one goal per game due to stellar play from keeper Paige MacRitchie who has 15 saves over these four games, and defensive players like senior Olivia Eriksson and sophomore Isabellah Avila pestering opposing offensive players.
The match will start at 1pm on Saturday, October 18th at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
