Women's Soccer continues to stomp through CCIW play, now 5-0 in conference action

Vikings clinch a spot in the CCIW Tournament for the first time in program history

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- North Park (8-6-0, 5-0-0 CCIW) remained unbeaten in conference play with a commanding 3-0 road victory over Carroll University (5-4-5, 2-3-1) on Saturday afternoon at Schneider Stadium. The win represents a program record for the Blue & Gold and cliches their first ever entry into the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament.

After a scoreless first half marked by just a handful of shots and solid goalkeeping, the Vikings broke through in the 64th minute when a 45-yard free kick for senior midfielder Olivia Eriksson's bounced in between the posts for the tiebreaking goal. Just two minutes later, senior forward Caroline Sjøstedt doubled the lead with an unassisted strike, her third of the year, capitalizing on a perfect shot into the top-left corner of the goal.

Svensson capped the scoring in the 88th minute, finishing a well-placed pass from freshman defender Morgan Csajaghy to notch her ninth goal of the campaign.

North Park dominated the stat sheet, out-shooting Carroll 17-7 and earning five corner kicks to the Pioneers' one. Sjøstedt led the charge with six shots, including two on target, while freshman midifelder Sofia Svensson and junior midfielder Hannah Björkegren each added two shots on goal.

Carroll had its chances early, with Addie Decker testing North Park keeper Paige MacRitchie twice in the opening 30 minutes. MacRitchie, who finished with three saves, was instrumental in preserving the clean sheet. Natalie Namio also had a pair of second-half efforts that went wide, as Carroll struggled to convert their limited opportunities.

The Pioneers' defense, anchored by Nevaeh Darby's four saves, held firm in the first half but unraveled under North Park's relentless pressure after the break. A yellow card issued to Harlie Seuser in the 64th minute further compounded Carroll's woes.

With the win, North Park solidifies its position atop the CCIW standings and ties a program record with five-straight.
