CHICAGO, Ill. -- North Park Women's Basketball suffered a 10-point loss, 67-57, to continue CCIW play on Saturday afternoon. Fifth-year guard Evelyn Abundes set a career high with 23 points in the loss.
The two contrasting teams played a tight first half before big shots from distance allowed the Big Blue to begin pulling ahead. Millikin shot 50% from the field (16-32) while North Park found success from the free-throw line, shooting 93.3% in 14 of 15 attempts.
Sophomore forward Caroline Long and freshman guard Aliesha Peterson joined Abundes in double figures with 13 and 11 while Abundes and junior guard Kathryn Keehn had five rebounds each. 11 points for Peterson sets a career high while Long's three blocks is also a new mark in her young career.
Millikin was led in scoring by Nikkel Johnson who had 18 on 7 of 8 shooting. Deep threat Emily Brenneisen was the next top shooter for the Big Blue, posting 14 points on 4 of 9 shooting from three.

North Park (3-6, 0-2 CCIW) takes a week off before traveling to King Arena to play Wheaton College on Saturday, Dec. 14. Tipoff in Wheaton is set for 5:00 PM CT.
