CHICAGO, Ill. -- North Park Women's Basketball opened College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play against the league's top dog in No. 4-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday night. The Titans stayed perfect on the season with an 88-57 win.
Sophomore guard Aliyah Hershberger was a bright spot in a bleak night for North Park; she led all scorers with 21 points while going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Sophomore forward Caroline Long was the next best contributor with nine points and a pair of steals while freshman guard Naomi Kaskavitch came off the bench to add seven points and a team-leading four assists.
The Titans saw two players in double figures: Mallory Powers (15) and Lauren Huber (12) but the story was told in their ability to cause turnovers. North Park surrendered 24 turnovers thanks to 14 steals by Illinois Wesleyan. Sawyer White and Ava Bardic had three steals each.
