DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The North Park Women's Volleyball team suffered a straight sets loss (20-25, 15-25, 20-25) at the University of Dubuque on Friday night. The Vikings dip below .500 on the season to 11-12 while the Spartans improved to 19-8.
The Spartans, coming off wins against UW-La Crosse and Luther, only improved as each set went by, posting 11 kills in the first set, 10 in the second, and 15 in the third while respectively hitting .194, .267, .300. The Spartans also blocked the Vikings eight times, powered by five solos from Caitlin Jensen.
North Park had three players reach double-digit digs: 13 by senior opposite hitter Kharlie Simeona-French, 12 from sophomore outside hitter Rian Hobbs, and 10 by senior outside hitter Adriana Rodriguez, who added a double-double with a match-leading 17 kills. Rodriguez not only led the match in kills, but she was also the only player on either side to reach a double-digit total. Senior outside hitter Shamyia Collier had six kills. Rodriguez and sophomore middle blocker Meg Rothermel added one solo block each. Senior libero Stefania Balestra reached a career high with six digs in the match.

North Park (11-12, 2-4 CCIW) has two chances to get back in the win column tomorrow, Oct. 26, with matches against Coe and Cornell. Respective start times are 9:00 AM CT and 11:30 AM CT inside the Small Athletic and Wellness Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
