CHICAGO, Ill. – The North Park women's tennis team concluded their fall season on Wednesday afternoon, earning an 8-1 win over Millikin to finish their 11-match season 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the CCIW. The Vikings won four of their last five matches of the season, with the lone loss arriving against defending league champions North Central.
The Vikings ended their season on a high note against the Big Blue yesterday, as the only loss of the day was an impressive comeback win at #1 singles by Millikin's Emily Markus.
Second, third, and fourth singles of Alexandra Ristfeldt, Teodora Kraljevic, and Katarina Carlberg, respectively, all defended home court with 6-1 wins while fifth singles player Carla Cazes won 6-2, 6-0.

Sixth singles Ella Darrow stymied a comeback after a second set loss, posting a 10-1 score for the convincing three-game win.
Doubles play rolled through without a hitch. #1 doubles of Hanna Zethraeus and Kraljevic earned an 8-2 win, #2 doubles Ristfeldt and Carlberg won 8-1, and #3 doubles Cazes and Maddie Starr shutout their opponent, 8-0.
The 8-1 win finalized the Vikings' season at third in the CCIW standings, their best finish in program history.
North Park's nine wins this season surpasses an eight-win season the Vikings had in 2015-2016. However, that included the spring season as the Vikings went 8-8. The impressive, record-setting fall season for Coach Karl Soderstrom's Vikings included first-ever wins at Carthage and Augustana and showcased the best performance against North Central from any CCIW team since the spring of 2021. #1 singles player Hanna Zethraeus established an 11-match singles winning streak, representing a new high for NPU Tennis.
Now, the Vikings will rest up over winter and look to make an impressive run during the 2024 spring championship season.
