HANOVER PARK, Ill. – The North Park women's tennis team opened their season at Centre Court in a "home" match against UW-Stevens Point. North Park came away victorious over the pointers thanks to four strong singles wins.
Hanna Zethraeus led a comeback victory in #1 singles, dropping the first set before earning 6-3 and 10-6 wins in the second and third.
#2 singles Alexandra Ristfeldt, #4 singles Maddie Starr, and #5 singles Ella Darrow all earned dominant two-set victories. Ristfeldt raced ahead of her opponent with 6-1, 6-1 wins, Starr was equally dominant at 6-1, 6-0 and Darrow secured the fourth singles with a 6-3, 6-2 match. #3 singles Katarina Carlberg dropped her opening set before a dominant 6-1 win in set two, but fell in the third, 10-3.
The Vikings also earned doubles wins at #2 (Zethraeus and Starr) 8-4 and #3 (Darrow and Vinson) 8-5 to capture the season-opening win.

North Park (1-0) has nearly three weeks of practice before playing Roosevelt University at X-Sport on Thursday, March 21. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
