RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The North Park men's volleyball team secured their first straight sets win of the season, taking down Concordia (IL) on Saturday.
The Cougars and Vikings traded one or two-point deficits all the way to a 17-17 tie in the first set. North Park broke through with four-straight points on four Concordia errors, establishing a 21-17 lead. The Vikings' final four points came from an Emmanuel Eugene kill, Alejandro Condoy service ace, Cougar attacking error, and Bobby Vaughn kill to grab the opener, 25-19.
In the second set, North Park held Concordia to just seven kills while forcing as many errors. Meanwhile, the Vikings committed only four attacking errors while totaling 11 kills in a short 25-15 set.
A final third set featured a 1-1 tie and then it was all North Park. The Vikings matched their first set performance with 13 kills but doubled their attacking accuracy with a season-best .565 attacking percentage. Capped off by a Ty Ingrao kill, North Park took the final set, 25-19.
