Chicago, Ill. – The North Park University baseball team fell behind 6-0 early, and that deficit was too much to overcome as the Vikings fell by a score of 8-4 at the Holmgren Athletic Complex on Tuesday evening.
It was 6-0 Thunder going into the bottom of the third when Richie Silva slapped a triple into the left center gap to lead off the half inning. After a Justin Swanson infield single that kept Richie Silva frozen on third, reigning CCIW Hitter of the Week Jake Reinhardt was able to come through with a two RBI single to get North Park on the scoreboard. Jared Cantu and Logan Peters were able to pick up RBIs in the bottom of the eighth, but the comeback came up short for the home side.
Quick Hits:
- Silva, Peters, and Brad Maurer all tallied two hits on the day, and Silva scored twice.
- Reinhardt finished with two RBIs, while Cantu and Peters grabbed one each.
