Women's BB loses to Elmhurst 57-53

Przybyslawski scores career-high 19 points, NP garners seven blocked shots

Despite a career performance from sophomore Nikki Przybyslawski, North Park couldn't overcome visiting Elmhurst as NP fell 57-53 to the Bluejays Wednesday night.

Przybyslawski scored a team-high 19 points, connecting on 8 of her 13 shots, including two big three-pointers down the stretch, but a 21-point, eight-rebound effort from Elmhurst's Fiona McMahon led the Bluejays to their 14th win of the season and a season split with NP.

After Elmhurst held a 52-44 lead with 1:06 left in the contest, North Park made a furious comeback to trim the deficit to a one-possession game on two different occasions. Sophomore Amani Davis electrified the pink-clad crowd with a three-pointer on the left wing bringing the hosts to within two at 52-50. After a few Elmhurst free throws, Przybyslawski then converted on a long range three to make it a 56-53 affair with 11 seconds remaining, but 1 of 2 free throws from Katie Swanson sealed the victory for the visitors.

Junior Soly Roman added 10 points on a perfect 4 of 4 from the field for North Park, while Davis tallied seven. Roman also had a season-high four blocks as NP garnered a season-high seven combined swats.

North Park (13-10, 5-7) returns to action Saturday night when it hosts Illinois Wesleyan University for a 5 p.m. contest.
