Despite nearly 400 yards of total offense, the Vikings had their two-game win streak snapped against Carthage College Saturday afternoon with a 14-6 loss in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action.
Seeking their third-straight win against the Red Men in as many seasons, NP trimmed a slim 7-0 deficit to 7-6 when junior quarterback T.D. Conway and the Viking offense engineered a seven-play, 87-yard drive culminating in Conway's 13-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Devin Childress with 5:25 left in the third quarter, but Carthage held off the visitors' rally with another score early in the fourth quarter.
North Park finished with 24 first downs and 376 yards with 292 coming through the air. Conway finished the day completing 24 of his 49 passes. Childress had 11 catches for 137 yards while senior Anthony Burton added seven receptions for 91 yards.
