CHICAGO, Ill. -- The North Park University football team placed six Vikings on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, as the organization announced on Tuesday. Earning the prestigious honor for their academic and athletic efforts were Caleb Apodaca, Elijah Chandler, Aidan Delisi, Armando Martinez, Jereme Ombogo, and Jaysen Perez.
Apodaca was a starter on the North Park offensive line in his sophomore season, helping protect a batch of Vikings in the pass and run game.
Chandler boasted 4 tackles for loss on the North Park defensive line, totaling 20 tackles while forcing a fumble.
Delisi rushed for 3 touchdowns and 218 total yards as a starting running back, totaling nearly 100 yards on the ground against Elmhurst in 14 carries.
Martinez was named a Second Team All-CCIW selection after totaling 70 tackles including 41 solo. He also forced a fumble, intercepted a pass, and was credited with 3.5 tackles for loss.
Ombogo was a First Team All-CCIW returner for North Park this season while also showcasing as a premier wide receiver. He led the CCIW with 29.3 kick return yards per attempt and also logged 439 punt return yards, including a 97-yard TD return. His extraordinary resume puts him in the position to secure another CSC Academic All-American honor, as voting opens next week.
Perez was a starting linebacker for the Vikings, totaling 29 tackles including 4 for loss. He added two sacks and was credited with 6 tackles, including 2 for a loss of yards, against Augustana.
