Box Score The North Park football team suffered a 45-7 loss to visiting Augustana College in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin action Saturday.
Despite the loss NP garnered 146 yards of total offense with its biggest play of the day coming on a T.D. Conway 50-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Devin Childress down the left sideline with 11:45 remaining in the fourth quarter. The TD pass ended a quick 3-play, 57-yard drive for the Vikings as Conway finished the day completing 11 passes for 116 yards. Sophomore Filo Langkilde was strong on the ground as well as he garnered 64 yards of total offense, 46 of those coming on 11 carries. Senior Anthony Burton also had three catches for 19 yards while Childress finished with two catches for 63 yards and a score.
Defensively, NP produced some solid individual performances with senior Joe Butz recording nine total tackles, including four solo. Hunter Corrigan added seven tackles (three solo) and Brennen Shetina garnered six total tackles. Sophomore Chaun Maiava also recorded two tackles for a loss of five yards and both Matt DiFecchio and Mark Mamola each had a sack for a loss of five yards.
Quarterback Sam Frasco had a strong day for Augustana as he finished the game with 249 all-purpose yards. He completed 12 passes for 112 yards with one touchdown.
North Park (2-6, 1-4) looks to rebound next Saturday, Nov. 7 when it travels to Kenosha, Wisconsin for a 1 p.m. contest with Carthage College.
