North Park couldn't overcome the speed and versatility of visiting North Central College Saturday night and as a result fell 95-90 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin contest.
Junior center Nicole Kruckman had a career day, connecting on 11 of her 14 shots for a game-high 22 points. She also grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as North Park struggled from the field, knocking down only 42 percent of its shots.
Despite their offensive woes, the Vikings still kept things close throughout much of the contest. While North Central held the lead for all but three minutes, the largest lead the visitors sustained was a 12-point margin late in the first half.
The Vikings led 85-82 after a steal and lay-up from Kruckman with 3:06 to go, but North Central responded with a 13-5 scoring run to close out the game and earn its 17th win of the season.Â
Five different players finished in double-figure scoring for North Park as junior Soly Roman added 20 points, Nikki Przybyslawski 13 and Amani Davis 11. Senior Annie Shain tallied 10 points as she connected on a pair of three-pointers. Jamie Cuny led North Central with 21 points.
North Park (10-8, 2-5) returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Carthage College for a 7 p.m. contest.
