Led by a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds from Soly Roman, North Park rolled to an 87-46 victory over the host Illinois Institute of Technology Monday night.
Five different Vikings finished in double-figure scoring as Amani Davis poured in a season-high 13 points, while Annie Shain and Liz Rehberger had 11 points each. Freshman Kennedy Kantner tallied 10 points as well.
North Park built as much as a 42-point advantage late in the second half after Kantner converted on a three-point play at the 7:54 mark. The Vikings raced out to a 29-9 lead after a three-pointer from Rehberger and held a 43-18 lead at halftime.
NP controlled the boards as well as it out-rebounded IIT 65-35, including 23-10 on the offensive glass which led to 29 second chance points. Both Shain and Kantner had eight rebounds each and Shaylee Sloan had three steals. Kaylee Wicka led IIT with 13 points as the Scarlet Hawks fell to 0-5 on the season.
North Park (6-1) returns to action Monday, Dec. 15 when it hosts Blackburn College for a 7 p.m. contest.Â
