Women's BB defeats Blackburn 92-52

Five different Vikings finish in double-figure scoring

North Park used an all-around team effort Monday night as all 11 players contributed in scoring a 92-52 victory over Blackburn College in non-conference action.

Of the 11 Vikings, five finished in double-figure scoring led by 16 points off the bench from junior Soly Roman. Roman connected on 8 of her 10 shots, and had one rebound in leading NP to it seventh win of the season.

Freshman Shaylee Sloan added 15 points and sophomore Nikki Przybyslawski tallied 14 as she was nearly perfect from the field connecting on 7 of 9 shots. Liz Rehberger (13 points) and Amani Davis (12) also had double-figure performances.

North Park controlled the contest from the onset as it raced out to an 11-0 lead and later a 44-29 lead at halftime. The Vikings then built their advantage to as much as 47 points in the second half. NP shot the ball well, connecting on 60 percent of its field goals and forced 32 turnovers on defense, scoring 45 points off the mistakes.

The lone bright spot for the Beavers was the stellar play of senior Briana Rae. Rae, who was just coming off a 25-point performance where she also scored the 1,000th point of her career in the previous game, tallied a game-high 31 points and had 14 rebounds.

North Park (7-1) returns to action this weekend when it travels to Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas for a 7 p.m. contest with the Tigers.
